Springfield Schools Dedicated to Leading

Springfield Schools Dedicated to Leading

I would like to congratulate the Springfield ISD and community on reaching new heights with student achievement. The Chicago Assessments are one source of data we use to measure student achievement, curriculum and instructional practices.

I completed a brief overview of our data and was simply amazed by the victories within the results. I know we have worked very hard the last 3 years with developing units aligned to the Core and implementing instructional practices that demand higher student engagement and deeper thinking. Our dedication to students and best practices is displayed in our recent data. (We have yet to scratch the surface of what we are capable of achieving, but we are making tremendous strides in reaching our achievement goals.)

Because we are committed to professional growth and believe that each and every student can achieve at higher levels and are willing to brave change, we are accomplishing things many thought were not possible. Thank you for your courage, belief and dedication to our plan to graduate each and every student prepared for a successful post-secondary transition.

Please note in the data the huge increases in the percent of students now scoring at the advanced proficient levels. We are asking students to read more, write more, and to think more critically and deeper across all curriculum and grade levels. We are engaging students in more rigorous and meaningful tasks and the result of your willingness to brave change is reflected!

This is evidence that, regardless the barriers, there is not anything we cannot accomplish with the right belief, dedication and passion for professional growth.
