Mariemont High School's Economics, Finance and Strategies classes welcomed Withrow University High School's School of Business students to their classroom to talk business. Withrow is in its first year of the High School of Business program and wanted to visit Mariemont High School to observe a project-based curriculum.
The district's Economics students presented their recently completed infomercials, which portray economic activities, incentives, supply and demand, and pricing. The next project was introduced and the all the students from both high schools formed groups to discuss examples of innovation that has occurred or is occurring in their schools. Finance students located financial reports and data utilizing Hoovers' and the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's websites. The Strategies students presented last semester’s business startup and detailed their upcoming business startup. The Withrow students and teachers will return later this year to observe the district's students in the DECA competition events.
